Built for Scale, Sludge, Steam, and Severe Service

Everlasting boiler blowdown valves are engineered for one of the toughest valve applications in a steam system: removing sludge, scale, sediment, and impurities from the boiler while maintaining reliable shutoff under demanding temperature and pressure conditions.

Failure mode → EV solution

Why conventional valves struggle in boiler blowdown service.

Boiler blowdown is not clean water service. Scale, sludge and solids can enter the seat area during operation, accelerating leakage and forcing maintenance teams into repeated repair or replacement cycles. EV’s rotating-disc design is built to wipe, self-lap and continue sealing in severe boiler conditions.

Temperature changes affecting seal integrityEV blowdown designs are built for high-temperature boiler service and demanding pressure conditions.

Product Features

Unlike conventional valves that can wear out quickly in dirty steam and blowdown applications, Everlasting valves are designed to wear in, not out.

The EV sealing disc rotates across the precision-lapped body seat each time the valve operates. This motion helps clean the sealing surface, reduce debris buildup, and maintain reliable shutoff performance in severe boiler service.

Because our valve’s proprietary technology wears in, even when exposed to thick slurry, it lasts much longer than other valves. The rotating disc slides across the body of the valve during operation, clearing out harmful boiler scale and other particles and cleaning the precision-lapped surface. Post packing is self-adjusted, reducing maintenance requirements and preventing leakage.

Our boiler blowdown valves are available in quick-opening, slow-opening, straight and angle configurations, for applications that include steam boiler blowdown, surface blowdown, water-column drain, and shut-off and stop valves.

Find the right EV boiler blowdown valve direction.

Use this quick guide to help direct toward the right product family before submitting an RFQ. This is not a final engineering selection; it is a front-end application review tool for website visitors.

  • Fast intermittent bottom blowdown generally points to the 4000 Series quick-opening valve.
  • Controlled gradual opening generally points to 4000 / 6000 Series slow-opening valves.
  • Two-valve or combined blowdown arrangements generally point to 5000 Series duplex / uni-tandem valves.
  • Scale, sludge and dirty boiler water reinforce EV rotating-disc technology as the core advantage.

Stop replacing boiler blowdown valves too often.

If your valves are leaking, washing out, hanging up on boiler scale or being replaced during every outage, EV can help review the application and recommend the right 4000, 5000 or 6000 Series direction.
