Severe-service shutoff for abrasive dry solids and pneumatic conveying.

Everlasting Valve’s BMV Series is built for dirty, high-cycling bulk-material applications where knife gates, ball valves, pinch valves, flappers, and other conventional designs can plug, leak, erode, or require constant repair.

DESIGN RANGE

Vacuum to 100 psig (7 bar), Temp Range: Cast Iron 450°F (+232°C), Carbon Steel 550°F (+287°C), Flat Faced – 125# Drill and optional designs to 750°F (+400°C)

Failure Mode → EV Solution

Designed around the problems that shut down bulk-material systems.

BMV Series valves use Everlasting’s rotating-disc technology, open-body configuration, and shearing action to help keep abrasive solids moving while protecting the sealing surfaces.

Common field problemWhy it happensEV BMV solution
Valve will not close against chunks or packed materialAsh, clinker, or granular solids can lodge across the sealing area.Rotating disc and seat edges shear particulate from the sealing path during cycling.
Seat erosion and leakageAbrasive solids wash across exposed sealing members.Self-lapping metal discs and hardened alloy seats help maintain tight shutoff over repeated cycles.
Plugging or bindingFine material accumulates in pockets around moving components.Open-body configuration gives media room to move and be displaced as the valve opens.
High-cycle applications drive constant maintenanceTraditional valves degrade as cycling increases.BMV disc rotation is beneficial in high cycling and self-laps and polishes surface over time.
Packing leaks and difficult service accessActuation and valve internals are often too tightly packaged for quick field service.Separated pneumatic actuator and valve arrangement supports field packing and inspection without removing the valve from the line.

Everlasting BMV Series Valves Solves Plant Problems

Application: Ash Handling

Problem

Sealing members would erode and have to be replaced on a weekly basis. Flapper style valves cycling once a minute wouldn’t always close against large chunks of 600°f vitrified coal ash trapped between its sealing members.

Solution

The Everlasting BMV (bulk material valve) was installed providing trouble free service in this high temperature (see options), high cycling application.

Application: Inorganics

Problem

Production is moving granular abrasives with a bulk density of over 100 lbs/ft3.

Solution

Everlasting Valves replaced transporter feed knife gate valves that developed internal and external leakage. Transporter outlets, now fitted with Everlasting Valves, replaced ball valves that suffered packing leaks.

Our diverter valves have eliminated endless hours of maintenance in the finished product area that were previously spent repairing pinch valves. In each location the users enjoyed a fast pay back on their investment.

Applications

Where BMV valves fit best

Use this section as an end-user navigation block: start with the application, then show the failure mode, EV design advantage, and next action.

Ash Handling

Use BMV where hot ash, large chunks, or abrasive fines attack sealing members and prevent conventional flapper or gate valves from closing reliably.

Typical problemSeat erosion, weekly repairs, chunks trapped across seal path.
EV directionShearing rotating disc and hardened seat package.

Cement Production

Relevant for CKD, kiln fuel feed, clinker cooler areas, mill feeds, silo discharge, and other abrasive powder or granular solids locations.

Typical problemAbrasion, leakage, packing issues, product accumulation.
EV directionOpen body and self-cleaning internals for abrasive solids.

Dense / Dilute Phase Conveying

Use for transporter fill, discharge, vent, filling, and transfer-line isolation where solids handling and shutoff reliability are both important.

Typical problemMaterial hang-up, leakage past seat, high cycling.
EV directionAir-cylinder operated BMV with automation accessories as needed.

Silos, Cyclones, ESPs, Baghouses & Dust Collectors

Use BMV below collection points where fines, dust, and abrasive solids need dependable isolation without building up inside the valve.

Typical problemPlugging, fines accumulation, valve cannot reseal.
EV directionOpen-body design allows particulate displacement during cycling.

Inorganics / Granular Abrasives

Use where production is moving high-density granular abrasives and traditional knife gates, ball valves, or pinch valves are creating maintenance burden.

Typical problemInternal/external leakage and frequent rebuilds.
EV directionHardened rotating discs, rugged body, positive shutoff focus.
